Huawei Roadshow Minisite

Huawei Roadshow Minisite

The Brief

Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, approached Jellyfish Livewire to help them promote a road show that was designed to showcase their growing range of telecoms technologies and equipment for mobile and fixed broadband networks that paves the way for the wireless communication of the future such as 5G.

The project required a campaign microsite to promote and support their Demo Truck’s tour across 21 European cities. The site was to provide visitors with key information relating to each city the Truck would be visiting and include an interactive map of Europe and then further information relating to each city the Truck would stop at. Given the nature of the audience and the brand, the site had to be fully responsive, HTML5 with no Flash so it would work on all devices.

Our Approach

  • Creative

Working to Huawei’s branding guidelines, Livewire created a visually pleasing home page using the Demo Truck itself as the key feature. The internal pages of the site were designed with end user in mind, clean, crisp and easy to navigate.

  • Digital

Livewire wanted to deliver the best and easiest digital solution for Huawei. One which they would be able to manage and update themselves enabling them to add pictures and video content pre and post event. Livewire built the microsite on a simple, custom CMS platform.

    The Front End:

After the home page a map of Europe is displayed initially filling the entire screen with colour coded roundels indicating available locations. These roundels are animated so when the user hovers over them, the roundel expands and presents the date and location. When taped on the map is replaced with content specific to the selected location.

The locations are fed from co-ordinates within the CMS and the map moves within the location pages to the exact location of the event. Images and videos were also available.

    The back end:

The custom-built CMS looked exactly like the front end of the website and enabled Huawei to amend content, add and remove dates and add photos and videos.

The Results

Livewire successfully launched the new microsite that is hosted within the main Huawei site which has given them a platform to promote their ongoing Demo Truck Roadshow.
