Payzone UK limited is a British branded, consumer payments acceptance network that focuses on 2 key areas, convenience retail and general retail.

Customers in the convenience sector are typically convenience stores, newsagents and off-licences. Payzone’s partners include mobile network operators, utility companies and public transport organisations. Their activity in the General retail sector allows those businesses to accept credit and debit card payments.

As part of their proposition, Payzone offers Prepaid Debit Cards which are rapidly becoming a popular method of managing your money.  They can be used if you do not have a bank account or if you prefer not to use your personal bank account details for security reasons. 

Prepaid cards offer a wide range of benefits, such as making payments both in-store and online, as an alternative to travellers cheques or carrying foreign currency aboard, as well as cash withdrawals at ATM’s worldwide.

The Brief

Payzone wanted to launch a prepaid Visa Gift Card initiative throughout their retail estate. The packs were to feature a supplied Visa card that had to be inserted into a secure pack and complemented by a greetings card for most celebratory occasions. In addition to the secure packs themselves, the stores required full retail marketing collateral to support and promote the roll out. 

Our Approach

  • Creative Services

    Assets and artwork was supplied to Livewire, amendments and prepress checks were carried out to ensure the files were technically correct and complied with brand guidelines. Full digital proofs were provided to the client for approval prior to production. Physical samples were also produced prior to the production run commencing to ensure some of the complex designs would work. 

  • Print Management

    Livewire managed the print production of the secure packs containing the Visa cards themselves, a wide range of A5 greetings cards and matching envelopes. The in-store retail materials included point if sale items including hangers, shelf wobblers and window stickers. All elements required perfect colour matching which was challenging given the different materials and substrates.

  • Logistics

    Following print production a complex pick and pack matrix was issued to ensure the different size stores received the specific pack contents. There were more than 12 format of packs with varying quantities of the components securely packed and despatched direct to store. 

The Results

A successful, country wide launch of Payzone’s new Visa gift card initiative to a wide range of retail locations, on time and to budget.
