intu looked to Livewire to help create an unusual way to communicate the new, exciting and innovative projects they are embarking on over the next couple of years. intu wanted to find a different way of engaging with all its members of staff across the business to give them an insight to these future plans and how they would effect them. They also wanted to reiterate the fact that intu is an innovate business, a great place to work and that the management have listened to their staff when developing new communications.
The idea of producing a traditional tabloid style newspaper was agreed on, but instead we dated it in the future - 2017. It featured a number of stories of forthcoming projects such as restaurant developments, shopper lounges and centre expansions, but also some fictional fun stories including intu launching a new energy drink and sponsoring the England athletics team in the Olympics.
“This was a great fun piece to work on for intu. It gave Livewire a chance to be really creative and produce something different from the standard employee newsletter. It had a great engagement rate too. Staff wanted to take the newsletter home and show their families as they were so proud of where they worked as well as being part of the editorial contribution team.” commented Hannah Powell, Account Manager.
