Guaranteed Page One Rankings – Never Trust This Statement
As I write this I have received the 5th email today stating that I can be guaranteed page one of Google.
“Top Rankings In Google
We can get your website on page one of Google. Please reply on this e-mail for more info.”
This type of email infuriates me as many clients fall for this statement or do not fully understand what this statement means. Yes the company might get you on page one for keywords but these keywords might have little or very low level of competition and low search volume or even none at all. So yes you will rank in the top position for those keywords however you might not get any visitors to your website from these keywords. You need to know the search volumes for the keywords that they are ranking you for. The SEO agency should tell you that information if you ask them. If not, you can check yourself using Google Keyword Planner.
Jellyfish Livewire recommend that you never trust an SEO Company that say they can guarantee you top of first page on Google without using Google Pay Per Click.
Google state “Be wary of SEO firms and web consultants or agencies that send you email out of the blue.
"Dear google.com, I visited your website and noticed that you are not listed in most of the major search engines and directories..."”
Also If you read the Do you need an SEO? article from Google, you will see a section titled No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google. Google goes on to say “Beware of SEOs that claim to guarantee rankings, allege a "special relationship" with Google, or advertise a "priority submit" to Google. There is no priority submit for Google. In fact, the only way to submit a site to Google directly is through Add URL page or by submitting a Sitemap and you can do this yourself at no cost whatsoever.”
