About this project
Ex-Pro footballer Francis Benali carried out his first Ultra endurance challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK by completing a 1,000 mile run during August and September 2014. Over the three weeks Franny ran to all 20 Premier League grounds – his efforts raising over £265,000. As a result he became the first recipient to be presented the Barclays Spirit of the Game award in December 2014. Not content with the first challenge, Franny took it upon himself to push the limits of his physical and mental strength even further by attempting and completing an even more gruelling challenge, again for Cancer Research UK. Francis successfully completed his challenge to visit all 44 Premier League and Championship grounds in just two weeks, making his man-powered journey by a combination of running and cycling. Every day he ran a minimum of one marathon (26.2 miles) and cycled a minimum of 75 miles. Franny's work continues for Cancer Research today as he aims to raise £1M for Cancer Research. Livewire supported both charity challenges by providing a full range of services including website builds with FitBit API integration to track Franny’s calories burned and steps taken along with live GPS tracking and live donation figures. We provided assistance with social engagement and content broadcast as well as providing content to the media outlets. We also provided everything for the team in terms branded clothing and campaign materials throughout the challenges.

Writing a testimonial for Livewire is the easiest thing for me to do. Why? Because MD Graham and his team are highly creative, knowledgable, experienced and professional in what they do. They have built my personal website along with sites for my charity fundraising, but have gone above and beyond what I had expected, delivering a fantastic service and product. The websites are eye-catching, simple to navigate and have been individually designed to my requirements.
